Miss Sophia began her karate journey at the age of six. She loved karate and the instructors so much that she set a goal to become an instructor someday. Sophia was asked to become a helper when she was a green belt. As a helper during COVID, Sophia learned that it is important to go with the flow. Although, outside classes were fun, It was nice to get back inside the Dojo. Sophia received her shodan (1st degree black belt) and the Tatsu award (NGMA's highest award) in May of 2023. Her hard work and dedication paid off when she was finally given the opportunity to become an instructor at NGMA.
Karate has taught Sophia many important skills that will continue to benefit her in the future.
